I really don't go for all the mushy hype around Valentines Day - I'm only in it for the chocolate and champagne :-)
Been spending my time knitting socks lately. I have the second sock of a pair for myself on the needles & almost done. Then I have two more pair waiting -- one a birthday gift, if I can get them done in time, the other a special order from a friend in Connecticut! Still have to find the right yarn for that pair - will be visiting my lys (that's local yarn shop) tomorrow to see what they've got. And she wants knee socks! So that will be another new challenge -- I could just knit really long cuffs, but I think the socks will fit better if I can find a pattern with some shaping for the leg. We'll see.
In other news . . . I have lost my voice. Put it down and can't find it anywhere! (Ok, really bad joke.) This is a relatively new phenomenon - in the past few years, some of my "colds" have gone right to my voice instead of my sinuses! In some ways, I'm grateful - far less pain this way. I feel fine everywhere but my throat --- it's a little sore, and the voice is gone. But, of course, it's a very inconvenient time. Hubby and I sing in a little group called Musica Sacra - we sing all early, sacred music. We have a Lenten Evensong Service next Sunday afternoon, and a long dress rehearsal for it on Sat. So I have about a week to find my voice again. I really need to not talk or sing if I can help it -that will be a challenge. Esp. the talking part.
