Tattoo #3 - check

I came up with the idea for the tattoo a while ago, but just wasn't really sure of exactly how I wanted it to look. Finally found an assortment of pics online that helped describe what I was looking for, printed those out and took them in to "my" tattoo artist, Ellie Geyer, last Monday. She called me on Tues. (didn't have her calendar with her on Monday) and we made an appt. for today (Sunday) at 4.

Once I gave her the pics and my thoughts, she took them and said "Great! I'll draw something up for you". Uh . . . ok. I found myself feeling a bit out of sorts on Tues. and Wed. and FINALLY figured out that the tattoo and what it represents was bringing up ALL sorts of memories and feelings. Once I figured that out, I felt better, and was just able to let the memories come.

The tattoo is an addition to the treble/bass clef on my back -- Ken has the matching treble/bass clef on his right arm. My thought was: add staff lines, and instead of music notes, put flowers on the staff. 7 flowers -- two in color to represent my daughters, and 5 in white to represent the 5 pregnancies I lost. This all happened over the course of 7 years - 1983 - 1990. It was a long time ago, but somehow those feelings all come back.

Ellie did an amazing job with the design. Unfortunately, since it's on my back, it's hard for me to see, and right now, it's a little too . . . uh . . . messy (trans. bloody) to get a good pic. I will post pics in the next few days when it heals up a bit. I feel very sure that this is right, and can't wait to see it all healed up.
